For the past 25 years a community activist Jackson is also president of the United Cornerstone University. He served as president of Ministers United for Christ (MUC) of Thomasville & Vicinity for five years. He has served as an adjunct professor in the Humanities Departments at Forsyth Technical and Davidson Community Colleges. Jackson taught religion at Livingstone College for four years. Jackson served two terms on the Thomasville Human Relations Commission and by gubernatorial appointment served eight years on the NC Martin Luther King Jr. Commission. He and his wife Pamela are the parents of six children.
